We are so lucky to have this program provided to our 3rd graders annually! Thank you to all involved! The students had a great time learning outside of the classroom!

On Friday, our 3rd & 4th grade students had the opportunity to participate in a STEM event titled, "You're Hired." Students are tasked with solving a "problem" by working together as a "company" to create a product and then selling their product through an "interview" process. Students across the state are able to compete and participate, as the event is facilitated virtually. This year a record breaking 46 companies across 5 different school districts invented, created, and presented a product or idea to make the world a better place! Five of the eight winning teams were from Carrington! Great job! This is our 4th graders second year in a row participating in the event. Our 6th graders will have the opportunity to participate on Thursday!

Robin Simonson, with Foster County Public Health, conducted the Slick Tracy program with our 6th graders. This is a research based program that has been proven effective in delaying alcohol use and reducing alcohol-related problems among young people. The “Daniel Tigers” team won the Slick Tracy competition where they do the at home activities with a trusted adult.
