Congratulations to Seth Nelson for being awarded the Region 3 Senior Athlete of the Year!

Students – Our local health care providers are recommending you use the provided hand sanitizer when you enter and leave the classrooms throughout the day.  When lining up for lunch in the east commons, please use the hand sanitizers provided to help prevent the spread of flu and other illnesses.  Thank you!

Congratulations to Ethan Roller on his awesome Mathcounts season! Ethan was our school champion, placed 4th in our region, and placed in the top half of competitors at the state Mathcounts competition in Bismarck this past Monday. Way to go, Ethan!

School will be dismissed at 1:30 today for Professional Development.

School is in session on Thursday, March 19th.

Today’s track practice is at 3:30.

The bus for the speech meet in Harvey tomorrow will leave at 6:45 AM from door 8.

There will be an FFA Agronomy, Livestock Judging and Ag Sales competition here on Saturday.   Registration starts at 8:00 AM events will begin at 9:00 AM and awards will be presented about 1:30 PM.

Any speech team member who wishes to compete in the speech meet in Mayville needs to sign up by the end of today.

The bus for the speech meet in Harvey will leave from door 8 at 6:45 AM on Saturday.

From the Library – Congratulations to Cole Solwey and Hudson Topp who through a joint effort were the first to come up with the answer to yesterday’s trivia.  The fictional book character who has been featured as a major character in more films than any other is Sherlock Holmes.  He has appeared in 223 movies.  Second place is Dracula with 217 movies.  Today’s trivia – Which book has been stolen the most often from public libraries?

Congratulations to the CHS speech team for their performances at our home meet on Saturday.  Bella Garr placed first in speech to inform and qualifies for state. She also placed 7th in EPR. Sarah Hallwachs placed 2nd in speech to inform and 4th in radio, Sierra Friedt and Kendall Kovar placed 5th in humorous duo, and Logan Weninger placed 7th in speech to persuade.

Congratulations to the following who placed in the Medina Archery Tourney over the weekend:

Trapper Depew 2nd in 3D and 3rd in Bullseye in the high school boys division
London Davis 8th in 3D middle school girls division
Braden Kruse 10th in 3D high school boys division

Any speech team member who had a welcome lanyard on Saturday should return it to Mrs. Hewitt.

All speech team members who placed on our meet on Sat should come to Mrs. Hewitt’s room at 10:08 to take a quick picture for the paper.

There will be Academic Pursuit practice in Mrs. Hewitt’s room on Tuesday at 7:45 and 3:20.

School is in session on Thursday, March 19th.

Dance tryouts will be held next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 5:00-6:00 for all students interest grades 6-11.

Any speech team member who wishes to compete at the Harvey-Wells County meet on Mar. 14 needs to sign up by the end of today.

All Carrington speech team members who are competing in our home meet this weekend should be here by 8:00 AM and will be expected to stay and help cleanup afterward.

The archery team has a meet today at Medina.  Bus will leave at 3:30.

Congratulations to the CHS speech team on their success at the BCN speech meet on Saturday.  Rori Ricter took first in poetry, which qualifies her for state.  Also placing were Dawsyn Anderson, fourth in impromptu, seventh in speech to inform, and eighth in radio broadcasting; Bella Garr, third in impromptu and speech to inform and fourth in EPR; Logan Weninger, second in speech to persuade and fifth in impromptu; Joe Nowatzki, fourth in humorous; Sierra Friedt and Kendall Kovar, sixth in humorous duo; and Kylie Skadberg, top novice in dramtic.  Congratualation to all of our speakers!

Congrats to the BBB team for their win versus Midkota. They play in a regional qualifier today in Jamestown at 6:00 versus EKM.  Bus will leave at 3:30.

Today’s track and field practice will be done at 4:30 so that the athletes can have a chance to attend the boys District basketball game.
