Happy Birthday yesterday to Lea Mittleider.

Congratulations to members of the CHS speech team who placed in the meet in Mandan on Saturday.  Rori Ricter received a Superior Speaker award in poetry and dramatic interpretation, Bella Garr received a Superior Speaker award in EPR and Hardest Worker award, and Logan Weninger received a Top Novice award in impromptu speaking.

Congratulations to the wrestling team on winning individual regionals.

Congratulations to the GBB team on their win over EKM at the District Basketball Tournament at Jamestown.  Carrington will play tonight at 7:30 against LLM.  Bus will leave at 5:00.

The FFA members competed in Fargo and Kindred over the weekend.  The Agronomy Team placed first at both events, the Livestock Judging Team placed 6th in Fargo and 1st in Kindred, and the Ag. Sales Team placed 5th in Fargo and 7th in Kindred.  Tyler Lee was the first place individual in Kindred.

There will be a yearbook editor meeting for during I/E today. There will be a yearbook staff meeting after school today.

Potential NHS Inductees need to have all paper work to Miss Michaelson by Wednesday, February 26.

All juniors will be taking the Practice ACT today. They may return to 7th hour class.

There will be academic pursuit practice tomorrow at 7:45 and 3:20 in Mrs. Hewitt’s room.

The regional Mathcounts competition will be held today. Participating students should report to Mrs. Anderson’s room at the start of 5th period.

Today is the last day to play chuck-a-duck at the end of lunch! Ducks cost $1. Thanks for supporting the FBLA chapter!

There is an FCCLA meeting in room 13 today during IE.

District 5 Girls Basketball Tournament starts today at Jamestown.  Carrington received a bye.  Carrington will play at 6:00 tomorrow night.

This week is FCCLA week.  FCCLA was founded in 1945 and was originally called Future Homemakers of America.

Potential NHS Inductees need to have all paper work to Miss Michaelson by Wednesday, February 26.

All elementary tutoring assignments are due to Mrs. Copenhaver today.

The wrestling team will be departing on Friday after practice at 5:00pm for the Region 2 individual tournament. The tournament begins on Saturday morning at Central Cass at 10:00am.

AB BBB team has a game tomorrow at Richland starting at noon.  Bus will leave at 8:00 a.m.

All juniors will be taking the Practice ACT on Monday, Feb 17th. They will report to MS 5 and ITV room before 1sthour. They may return to 7th hour class.

The bus for the speech meet in Mandan will leave at 6:00 am from door 8 on Saturday.

5th and 6th Volley Ball starts on Tuesday, February 18,  3:30-5:00 in our west gym.

NWEA testing continues through February for many of our students.  Starting the day with a good, healthy breakfast and plenty of rest helps student do their best on the test.

Students in grades 7-12 – Buy a singing Valentine during lunch today for only $5!  The Velvatones will deliver a “love” song or a “broken-hearted” song to any student or teacher in the elementary or the high school – it’s your choice!  Valentine’s Day is this Friday – do not delay!

Join the Cardinaires for a technique camp this week Monday – Thursday from 3:15 – 4:15 in the west commons.

This week is FCCLA week.  FCCLA has over 175,000 members in more than 5,300 chapters that are active in a network of associations in all 50 states.

FBLA members who did not get their forms for State FBLA yesterday, please stop by Mrs. Skytland’s room to get your copies.

7th & 8th BBB team has a game today at Leal starting at 4:30.  Players will be dismissed at 2:40, bus will leave at 2:50.

AB BBB team has a game today at Edgeley starting at 5:30.  Players will be dismissed at 3:00, bus will leave at 3:10.

All mentors and 7th graders will be taking their group picture for the hallway banner today. Students will need to have school related props such as text books, folders, pencils, calculators, school bags, etc. Students will be posing with their mentors by lockers.

All Juniors will be taking a Practice ACT, and complete pre ACT forms on February 17th. It will take the entire day, however there is a chance they might return to 7th hour.

All juniors will be taking the ACT test on Tuesday, March 3rd in the morning. All sophomores will be taking the PreACT on March 3rd as well.

This week is FCCLA week.  STAR events are our competitive events. Students Taking Action with Recognition Events are Competitive Events in which members are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation.

Happy Birthday yesterday to Chase Ellingson.

The CPS spelling bee was held Friday morning in the elementary library. Participants are students from grades 5-8.  Krystal Klein from 8th grade was the runner up and will be moving on to state competition March 23 in Bismarck. Congratulations Krystal!

The CHS Student Council would like to thank everyone who participated in Snoball Week last week!  Congratulations to the Juniors for winning their 2nd Snoball Dodgeball tournament championship in a row, and congrats to the Seniors for winning the class competition of Snoball Week!  Thanks to everyone who attended the Snoball Dance – we had a great turnout!

The CHS Student Body donated $370.53 for Make-A-Wish today, bringing our total amount collected in five days to $1059.47.  Great job students and staff!  Mrs. Boehmer’s Basic Math class donated the most money per student, at $15.75 for each of the four students in her room.  Basic Math – congrats and enjoy your donuts!  Using the admission collected at the Snoball Dance, the CHS Student Council is able to donate $1350 to the ND Make-A-Wish foundation!  Thank you to the students and staff for their generous donations over the past week!

Congratulation to the speech team on their third place team finish at Rugby on Saturday.  Individual placers were Rori Ricter with 2nd in poetry and 3rd in dramatic, Bella Garr with 3rd in inform and 5th in EPR, Dawsyn Anderson with 5th in inform, Sarah Hallwachs with 4th in radio and 6th in inform, and Kylie Skadberg with 6th in dramtic interpretation.

Congratulations to London Davis for taking 8th in the middle school girls division, Taylor Braaten 8th, Gavyn Anderson 9th, and Travis Scanson 10th in the high school boys division at the Wilton Archery Tournament on Saturday.

Congratulations to the wrestling team on winning the region 2 dual meet championships!

The FFA judging teams had a great day in Lisbon this weekend.  The Agronomy team placed 1st.  Tyler Lee was the 1st place individual.  The Livestock Judging team placed 3rd and the Ag. Sales team placed 5th.

FBLA will be doing chuck-a-duck at the end of lunch today! It’s costs $1 per duck. Come for a chance to win some awesome prizes and support your local FBLA chapter!

This week is FCCLA week.  FCCLA stands for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. FCCLA is a national Career and Technical Student Organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education.

ABC GBB team has a game today at Thompson starting at 4:15.  Players will be dismissed at 1:10, bus will leave at 1:20.

JH BBB team has a game here today in the west gym against Midkota starting at 5:00.  Please use door #11.

After school, students in grades 7 – 12 who ride a bus need to get on their bus while it is parked at the high school.  These students are not allowed to board the bus while it is in the elementary school parking lot.  Thanks for your cooperation!

Happy Birthday to Kyah Lura today.

A free Cardinaire Technique Camp will be held in the west commons area Feb 10-13th from 3:15 – 4:15.

This is for 5th -11th grade students that are interested in becoming Cardinaires.

Just wear black leggings and a T shirt and come to the west commons ares on Monday!

All techniques addresses will be skills necessary to try out for the Cardinaires this spring.
