FBLA Students Attend National Conference


Twelve of the Carrington Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter attended the FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, TX, June 29-July 2.  FBLA chapters from the United States, Puerto Rico, China and the U.S. Virgin Islands participated in this conference, where almost 13,000 students and advisers gathered, and students had the opportunity to test their business skills against other students.

The Carrington FBLA chapter has a successful conference where the chapter was recognized as a Gold Chapter and contributed to North Dakota receiving first place in the Business Achievement Awards (BAA). The twelve CHS students who competed were: Savanna Friedt, Drew Page, Sylvie Pate, Brett Paulson, Alayna Martinez, Marah Schmitz, Rori Ricter, Lauren Skadberg, Emma Wolsky, Allison Jarrett, Mya Schroeder, and Haley Wolsky.  fblapic1

Savanna Friedt competed in the Future Business leader competition. Savanna also received the Distinguished Leader Scholarship. Sylvie Pate competed in the Local Chapter Annual Business Report event. Drew Page and Marah Schmitz competed in the Social Media Campaign event. Brett Paulson and Alayna Martinez competed in Emerging Business Issues. We had two teams compete in Introduction to Business Presentation; Rori Ricter, Lauren Skaderg, and Emma Wolksy made up team one, and Allison Jarret, Mya Schroeder, and Haley Wolsky made up team two.

FBLA is a professional organization for students interested in pursuing business careers. This year’s theme of “Create. Lead. Inspire.,” reflects the goals of FBLA members, some of the best and brightest of today’s young people.  Its mission is to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.
